To give you a deeper insight into the flexible working experience at Uniper, we have created a dedicated page where you can learn more about our flexible working models.

Having a job-share partner means that you have someone by your side who can provide security and contribute new ideas
"I often have the feeling that many do not yet understand the added value of job sharing," says Dr. Lars Wiese, Head of Power Plant Group West at Uniper, a position he shares with his colleague Thomas Preußler. The pair have previously run power plants independently of each other, Thomas in Datteln and Lars in Scholven.

Our trainees have developed a space-saving alternative to the traditional desk in just six months

Supporting a healthy lifestyle
How the local Health Team at Karlshamn power station motivates their co-workers to exercise
Health is very important to Uniper and we support our employees in every way we can. A good example can be found at Karlshamn power station in Sweden. In the beginning of 2022, electrical engineer Mattias Kheller and the local Health Team at Karlshamn came up with an idea to make their own gym more attractive. As the existing one was in need of refurbishment and located at a remote area of the power station, it was not used by many.
Team Rynkeby — Cycling for a Good Cause

Team Rynkeby— Hohes C has a mission: Improving health and fitness while also helping children with cancer and their families in times of need. The European charity cycling team was founded in Denmark and has been organizing cycle rides to Paris to coincide with the start of the Tour de France for the past 20 years — all to raise money in support of children suffering from severe illnesses. This year's tour was once again a roaring success, with over 9.5 million Euro raised so far.
Uniper is Pride Champion
We are proud to have received the Pride Champion Seal in Gold as part of the UHLALA Pride Audit. It is awarded to companies that actively promote the interest of LGBTIQ+ employees and the topic of diversity.
At Uniper, we have a strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and undermine this by numerous activities. Our DEI communities, e.g. the Pride community, are an important part of our engagement. We offer DEI trainings for all employees and leaders, foster inclusive HR processes, and constantly improve the accessibility of our physical and digital workplaces.
Fair Compensation
A gender-equal workplace is the basis for employees being able to develop without experiencing discrimination or other disadvantages due to their gender or other characteristics. We take action at various points to promote diversity, ensure fairness and promote inclusion. This ranges from the recruitment process and the opportunities for flexible working as part of FlexWork to parental leave and job sharing, supported by a wide range of support offers and training opportunities.
Equal pay for women and men is also an important aspect by which we are measured. In Germany, we received the "Fair Compensation" certification last year. In 2023, an independent body, Dr. Vogt Consulting GmbH, in collaboration with the Association of Compensation and Benefits Experts (acbe), carried out an analysis of pay equity between women and men based on the salary data of all employees with an employment contract in Germany. The analysis was carried out in accordance with a recognized certification procedure, in which both qualification-related and job-related characteristics of remuneration were taken into account. As a result, the adjusted salary difference for Uniper in Germany was well below the relevant tolerance threshold of 5%. The "Fair Compensation" certificate awarded to Uniper is valid for three years. There will be further audits in 2024 and 2025 to maintain the certificate.
The "Fair Compensation" certificate encourages us to continue our activities with regard to fair pay in order to counteract the wage gap.
